Draft — pending attorney review. This document is a working draft prepared for legal review and is not yet final. It may contain placeholders and is provided for transparency, not as a binding agreement in its current form.

Terms of Service

What this means — plain-English summary, not legally binding; the full text below governs.

  • These terms are the agreement between you and MyEverAddress for using our website, demo, apps, and mail-handling service.
  • You must give us accurate identity information and complete the USPS forms required before we can receive mail for you.
  • You control what happens to your mail; we act on your instructions and follow our published policies.
  • Some features described on the site are planned or in a limited launch phase and may not be active for your account yet.
  • You can stop using the service and close your account; certain mail-handling obligations and waiting periods continue for a short time after closure.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

MyEverAddress (“MyEverAddress,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a service operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a company organized under the laws of [GOVERNING STATE]. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MyEverAddress website, the free interactive demo, the customer application, and the mail-receiving, scanning, forwarding, storage, and related services we make available (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, submitting a signup or waitlist request, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Additional policies apply to specific parts of the Service and are incorporated into these Terms by reference, including the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Mail Handling Agreement, Scanning Authorization, Forwarding & Postage Policy, Package Policy, Storage & Abandonment Policy, Shredding Authorization, Refund & Cancellation Policy, AI Feature Disclosure, and CMRA Onboarding Disclosure.

2. Service availability and launch status

The Service is offered in one of several operating modes (for example, public demo, waitlist, founding-customer, or full availability). The features described on our website represent the full product vision; not all features are active in every mode or for every account. We will tell you which features are available to you inside your account. Where a feature is described as planned, in progress, or in a limited phase, it is not a promise that the feature exists today.

The free interactive demo uses fictional, sample data only. It does not create a mailbox, does not receive real mail, and does not establish any mail-handling relationship.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the mail-handling Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Tell us promptly at security@myeveraddress.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Household and business accounts may allow additional named recipients. The account holder is responsible for ensuring every named recipient is authorized and has completed any identity requirements described in the CMRA Onboarding Disclosure.

4. Identity verification and USPS requirements

To receive mail on your behalf, we operate as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) and must follow United States Postal Service (USPS) requirements applicable to CMRAs. Before we can receive mail for you, you must complete USPS PS Form 1583, provide the identification USPS requires, and complete any notarization or identity-verification step then in effect. See the Form 1583 Guide and CMRA Onboarding Disclosure.

USPS does not endorse, sponsor, or certify MyEverAddress. Operating as a CMRA is a regulatory registration, not a government endorsement of our service.

5. Your address and its limits

When your account is activated, we assign you a Private Mailbox (PMB) address at our facility. You agree to use the address format we provide, which identifies the mailbox as a private mailbox as USPS requires.

A PMB mailing address is a mailing address. It is not a promise that any institution will accept it for a particular purpose. Acceptance of the address for legal residency, domicile, voter registration, driver’s licensing, vehicle registration, insurance, banking, tax residency, or similar purposes is decided by those institutions and by law, not by us, and varies by state and situation. We do not provide legal, tax, immigration, or residency advice. Consult a qualified professional before relying on the address for any legal or tax purpose.

6. Your instructions and our role

You decide what happens to your mail: whether it is held, opened and scanned, forwarded, stored, shredded, or returned. We act on your instructions and on the standing preferences you set, subject to our policies, applicable law, and lawful requests from authorities. Some actions are irreversible (for example, shredding). We describe these in the relevant policy, and we ask you to confirm before we take an irreversible action.

We may decline to receive, open, forward, or store items that are unlawful, hazardous, restricted by carrier or law, or otherwise outside the scope of the Service, as described in the Acceptable Use Policy and Package Policy.

7. Fees, billing, and changes

Fees for the Service, including subscription plans, included scan and page allowances, forwarding handling, postage, package handling, storage, and add-ons, are described on our pricing page and in your account. Postage and carrier charges are pass-through costs plus any handling fee we disclose.

If and when paid plans are active for your account, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for the fees you incur. We use a third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment-card numbers on our own systems. We may change prices and plan features on prospective notice; changes do not apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for. Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

We do not deposit checks, pay bills, or move money on your behalf. Any bill, deadline, or savings information the Service surfaces is informational only.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to receive, send, store, or forward anything unlawful, and not to misuse the address (for example, for fraud, to evade law enforcement, or to receive items you are not lawfully permitted to receive). The full rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination and may be reported to authorities where required by law.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including our software, website, designs, logos, and content we create, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose while your account is in good standing. You keep all rights to your own mail, documents, and content; you grant us the limited rights needed to receive, process, scan, store, forward, and display your mail and to operate the Service as you have instructed.

10. AI-assisted features

Some features use automated processing to read, organize, summarize, and extract information from documents you have authorized us to open and scan. These features are described in the AI Feature Disclosure. Automated summaries and extracted data may contain errors and are not legal, tax, medical, or financial advice. The original scanned document is always the authoritative record.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, such as payment processors, shipping carriers, notaries, email delivery, and infrastructure providers. Their acts, delays, pricing, and terms are outside our control. Carrier delivery times, postage costs, and package acceptance are set by the carriers.

12. Disclaimers

Except where the law does not allow it, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that mail or packages will always be received, processed within a particular time, delivered, or free from loss or damage in transit by third-party carriers. Target and typical processing times we publish are estimates, not guarantees. We are designed around security best practices, but no service can promise perfect security.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MyEverAddress and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the [twelve] months before the claim or [amount to be set by counsel]. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

(The bracketed figures and the enforceability of this section for a service that holds physical mail and sensitive documents require attorney confirmation.)

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify MyEverAddress against claims and costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or law, or content you cause to be received or forwarded, except to the extent caused by our own wrongdoing.

15. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, for legal or safety reasons, or for non-payment, with notice where practical. After closure, a short mail-handling wind-down period applies so remaining mail can be forwarded, returned, or handled per your instructions and applicable law; see the Mail Handling Agreement and Storage & Abandonment Policy.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date and notify you by a reasonable method, such as email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. Prior versions are retained and available on request.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING STATE], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The parties submit to the courts located in [VENUE], unless applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise. (Whether to include a binding-arbitration clause and class-action waiver, and the required opt-out, is left for attorney decision.)

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms: legal@myeveraddress.com, or [LEGAL NOTICE MAILING ADDRESS]. Legal notices to MyEverAddress must be sent to that address to be effective.
