AI Feature Disclosure
What this means — plain-English summary, not legally binding; the full text below governs.
- Automated features read and summarize only the documents you have authorized us to open and scan.
- The summaries and extracted details (like due dates and totals) are conveniences and can be wrong.
- The original scanned document is always what counts; automated output never replaces it.
- Summaries are not legal, tax, medical, or financial advice.
- You control the processing option, and you can correct or dismiss anything the system got wrong.
1. What the AI features do
When you authorize us to open and scan a document, automated processing can help you make sense of it. Depending on your settings, it may identify the sender and document type; extract details such as totals, due dates, account numbers (masked), policy or registration renewal dates, and deadlines; summarize the document; compare bills over time; detect coupons or offers; and organize items into reports. These features are described in the marketing pages and in your account.
2. Authorized documents only
Automated content analysis runs only on documents you have authorized us to open and scan (see the Scanning Authorization). For items you have not authorized us to open, the system works only with exterior metadata (such as sender and size) — it does not analyze contents it has not been authorized to access.
3. Accuracy and the authoritative original
Automated summaries and extracted details may contain errors. They can misread a figure, miss a page, or misclassify a document. They are provided to help you, not to replace your own review. The original scanned document is the authoritative record. Always rely on the original document for anything important, and check extracted details against it.
4. Not professional advice
Automated summaries, extracted deadlines, bill comparisons, and suggestions are informational only. They are not legal, tax, medical, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional. We do not evaluate the legal effect of any notice or calculate binding deadlines for you. Decisions and responses are yours.
5. Processing options and privacy controls
We offer controls over how document contents are processed. Depending on availability, these may include cloud processing, region-specific processing, local processing, or turning automated content analysis off entirely. Document contents are not sent to an external processing provider except in a configuration consistent with your authorization to open the item and your selected processing option. Where an external provider is used, we work to limit what is shared and how it may be used. See the Privacy Policy and Security Practices.
6. How findings are recorded
For each automated finding, we record information such as the source document reference, a confidence indicator where applicable, and version and timestamp details, so findings are traceable to their source. Automated processing does not silently overwrite the original scan or your own entries; the original remains available.
7. Correcting or dismissing findings
If the system gets something wrong, you can correct or dismiss the finding in your account. Your corrections take precedence over automated output in your views. Corrections do not alter the original scanned image, which remains the authoritative record.
8. Changes and contact
