Package Policy
What this means — plain-English summary, not legally binding; the full text below governs.
- We accept most standard packages addressed to you, photograph them, and post them to your dashboard.
- Packages can be stored for a limited free period; after that, storage fees may apply.
- You choose to forward, consolidate, hold, return, or (where allowed) dispose of a package.
- We may refuse or return packages that are too large, hazardous, prohibited, damaged, or that a carrier won’t accept.
- Unclaimed packages are handled under our storage and abandonment rules.
1. Scope
This policy governs how MyEverAddress receives, stores, and handles packages. It is part of the Terms of Service and works with the Forwarding & Postage Policy and Storage & Abandonment Policy.
2. Receiving packages
When a package arrives, we accept it (subject to the limits below), record the carrier and tracking, photograph it, note apparent condition, weigh and measure it, and post it to your account with a storage clock and available actions. Accountable and signature-required packages are handled with additional care and recorded in the audit trail.
3. Size, weight, and value limits
We accept packages within the size, weight, and declared-value limits our facility and carriers support. Oversize or overweight packages may require special handling and additional fees, or may be refused or returned. (Specific limits to be set and confirmed.)
4. Packages we may refuse, hold, or return
We may refuse, quarantine, hold, return, or report packages that are prohibited by law or carrier, hazardous, leaking, damaged, suspected contraband, or otherwise outside the Acceptable Use Policy. We may open damaged or leaking packages to protect people and property, and to determine safe handling, and we will document such actions.
5. Storage window and fees
Packages may be stored for a limited period at no additional charge; after that period, a storage fee may apply per the pricing shown in your account. Storage fees, the free window, and any oversize surcharge are configurable and disclosed. Long-term storage may be available for an additional fee.
6. Your options
For each package you may forward, consolidate with other items, hold, return to sender, or, where permitted, authorize disposal. Consolidation and repacking can reduce shipping cost and may carry a disclosed handling fee. Forwarding is governed by the Forwarding & Postage Policy.
7. Condition and liability
We record apparent condition on arrival and photograph packages, but we do not inspect contents unless safety or law requires. While a package is in our custody it is handled under the Mail Handling Agreement; once forwarded or returned, transit risk shifts to the carrier. We are not responsible for damage that occurred before a package reached our facility or for defects in the goods themselves.
8. Unclaimed packages
Packages not acted on within the applicable window, or left after account closure, are handled under the Storage & Abandonment Policy, including any waiting period and disposal procedure required by law before disposition.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy with notice as described in the Terms of Service. Questions: support@myeveraddress.com.
