Forwarding & Postage Policy
What this means — plain-English summary, not legally binding; the full text below governs.
- When you ask us to forward mail or packages, we ship them to the address you give us using the carrier and speed you choose.
- You pay actual postage plus a handling fee we disclose before you confirm.
- We can combine several items into one shipment to save you money (consolidation).
- Delivery times are set by the carrier and are estimates, not guarantees; once shipped, the item is in the carrier’s hands.
- Give us a correct destination address — items sent back as undeliverable may cost extra to re-forward.
1. Scope
This policy governs forwarding of mail and packages from your MyEverAddress mailbox. It is part of the Terms of Service and works with the Package Policy.
2. How forwarding works
You request forwarding for one or more items and choose a destination address, carrier, and service level. We verify the destination address, prepare the shipment, apply postage, and hand it to the carrier. We provide tracking where the carrier supplies it and record the forwarding action in your account’s audit trail.
3. Consolidation
Where practical, we can combine multiple items or packages into a single shipment to reduce postage. Consolidation, repacking, and any oversize handling may carry a disclosed handling fee. We show the estimated cost before you confirm.
4. Postage and fees
Postage and carrier charges are pass-through costs — the amount the carrier charges — plus any handling fee we disclose. We show an estimated total before you confirm a forwarding request. Actual carrier charges may differ slightly from estimates (for example, if a carrier re-measures a package); we will reconcile the difference and disclose it. Expedited, oversize, insured, and international shipments may cost more.
5. Destination address responsibility
You are responsible for providing an accurate, complete, deliverable destination address. If a shipment is returned as undeliverable because of an address problem, we will notify you; re-forwarding may require a corrected address and additional postage and handling.
6. Delivery times and carrier custody
Delivery times are set by the carrier and are estimates, not guarantees. Once an item is handed to a carrier, it is in the carrier’s custody and subject to the carrier’s terms, including the carrier’s rules on delays, loss, and damage. Claims for loss or damage in transit are generally handled through the carrier’s claims process, which we can help you initiate.
7. Loss, damage, and optional protection
While an item is in our facility, it is handled under the Mail Handling Agreement. Once shipped, transit risk shifts to the carrier. Where offered, you may select optional declared value or shipping insurance for an additional charge. (Availability and terms of optional protection subject to attorney and carrier confirmation.)
8. International forwarding
For international shipments, you are responsible for the accuracy of customs information and for compliance with export and import rules of the origin and destination countries. Duties, taxes, and customs fees are your responsibility. Some items cannot be shipped internationally. (Export/customs language to be finalized with counsel.)
9. Prohibited items
We will not forward items prohibited by law or by the carrier, as described in the Acceptable Use Policy and Package Policy.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy with notice as described in the Terms of Service. Questions: support@myeveraddress.com.
