Electronic Communications Consent
What this means — plain-English summary, not legally binding; the full text below governs.
- By using MyEverAddress, you agree to receive account and legal documents electronically instead of on paper.
- Service messages (like new-mail alerts and security notices) are part of using the account; marketing messages are separate and you can opt out.
- If we offer text messages, you opt in separately and can reply STOP to stop them.
- You can withdraw consent to electronic records, and you can ask for paper copies of certain documents.
- You need a device and email that can open and keep the documents we send.
1. Consent to electronic records and signatures
To use MyEverAddress, you agree that we may provide agreements, disclosures, notices, statements, and other communications (“Communications”) electronically — by email, through your account, or by other electronic means — rather than on paper, and that electronic signatures and records have the same legal effect as paper ones. This consent is intended to meet the requirements of the federal E-SIGN Act and applicable state electronic-records law.
2. Types of communications
- Service and legal communications. Communications necessary to operate your account and the Service — such as identity-verification steps, mail and package notifications, scan-complete alerts, forwarding confirmations, deadline reminders, billing notices, security alerts, policy updates, and legal notices — are part of using the Service. You cannot opt out of essential service and legal communications while you have an active account, though you can adjust some notification preferences.
- Marketing communications. Promotional messages are separate. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link or your preferences, without affecting service communications.
3. Text messages (if enabled)
If we offer SMS notifications and you opt in, you consent to receive text messages at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not opt you out of essential service communications delivered by other means.
4. Hardware and software you need
To receive electronic Communications, you need a current web browser, a valid email account, a device that can access and read PDF and web documents, and the ability to store or print them. If our requirements change in a way that could affect your ability to access Communications, we will notify you.
5. Keeping your information current
Keep your email address, phone number, and contact details up to date in your account so we can reach you. We are not responsible for Communications not received because your contact information was out of date.
6. Withdrawing consent and requesting paper
You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic records, and you may request paper copies of certain records. Because the Service is delivered electronically, withdrawing consent to electronic records may mean we cannot continue to provide the Service, and it may lead to account closure. To withdraw consent or request paper copies, contact support@myeveraddress.com. We may charge a reasonable fee for paper copies where permitted and disclosed.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this consent disclosure with notice as described in the Terms of Service. Questions: support@myeveraddress.com.
